Easy Peasy Doughnuts! Fun For all!

Standard

To make 10 donuts and doughnut holes, you’ll need:

* 1 can buttermilk biscuits
* 1/2 – 1 cup vegetable oil
* cinnamon / sugar mix
* powdered sugar
* chocolate frosting & sprinkles (optional)

Pour the oil in a pan and place over medium heat. Arrange all of the biscuits on a plate or cutting board. Use a small circle-shaped cutter to press firmly while rotating to carefully remove the centers from the dough. The center of the wreath from my Christmas cookie cutter collection was just the right size.

Place 5 of your donuts in the heated oil. Watch very closely, because they only take a few short minutes to fry. Flip them over as soon as they turn a nice golden brown color, and repeat this process with all sides of your donuts. Place them on a paper towel to cool. The little donut holes can be cooked all at the same time, however they finish cooking very quickly so don’t let them burn!

Sprinkle your donuts with a generous coating of cinnamon/sugar or powered sugar. You can also place them into a sandwich bag in each mixture to coat evenly, if you prefer.You can also spread the tops with chocolate frosting and dipping them into candy sprinkles (or nuts)

Painted Gourds

Standard

So as you all know last month I had an obsession with pumpkins (lol.) Well now its November and my obsession has moved to gourds…painted ones to be exact. I was browsing a few ideas online because my mantel piece is looking kind of drab and came across these!

What a simple wonderful idea!

What you will need:

Can of white glossy spray paint

Small gourds

Small pumpkins

wreath.

Ribbon.

First you will need a surface to spray paint on, I would suggest laying down some news paper and placing your items on there before painting.

Spray paint all the items including anything that may be on wreath.

After it drys wrap the ribbon around the wreath.

You can use this as a centerpiece on the table like shown in the picture above or you can use them on the mantel piece like in the picture below

I love this idea, its so simple and pretty cheap as well. Craft stores usually have discounts and coupons in papers or on receipts which can really come in handy!

Pretty-Easy Centerpiece.

Standard

This easy Thanksgiving centerpiece pumpkin craft is simple and looks beautiful on any Thanksgiving table.

What you need:

Fall leaves (fake), small pinecones, sprigs of berries, fall flowers, ribbons, or other small fall decorations.
Small pumpkin
Marker
Tall, but not thin candle (comparable size to the pumpkin)
Glue
Knife (adult supervision is needed when doing this project with children)

Directions:

  1. Remove as much of the stem of the pumpkin as possible without physically cutting into the pumpkin.
  2. Place candle on top of the pumpkin and using your marker, trace around the bottom of it.
  3. Cut a hole for the candle in the pumpkin, using your tracing as a guide and staying as close to it as possible (the more snug the candle fits, the better.)
  4. Place candle in the pumpkin and use glue to adhere fall leaves or sprigs around the edges of the opening (you may need to press some inside of the opening to secure the candle into place).
  5. Allow centerpiece to dry before using.

So Cute Pumpkin Ideas

Standard

After laying in the bed sick for the last few days I decided that today would be the day that I got up and did something crafty! Of course with Halloween  right around the corner and thanksgiving following right behind I figured I’d look for something that would accommodate both occasions. I found these super cute pumpkins on Midwest Living

Instructions:
Set leaves between paper towels and flatten them under a book for at least five days. Then brush decoupage glue on a white pumpkin. Arrange the leaves on the pumpkin’s surface. Cut small slits along the edges of the leaves as you go, so they’ll fit the pumpkin’s contours. To finish, coat the decorated surface in decoupage glue.
